DUI driver who crashed into Arvada home held on $25K bond following today’s hearing

Just after 11:15PM on Sunday (7/24/2022), Arvada Police and Fire responded to 5130 Independence Street in reference to a vehicle which had crashed into the residence at that location. The residence was occupied at the time of the crash but first responders reported that there were no physical injuries inside the home. At the time of the crash, the alleged driver, later identified by police as Kyle Duran, was driving a Ford truck east on 51st Avenue.

Duran continued through the stop sign at Independence before crashing and extensively damaging the home.  Arvada Fire advised there was extensive damage to the residence and the home is at risk of structural collapse. Duran, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Tuesday. Duran remains in custody after the court issued a $25,000 cash bond during today's hearing. Per jail records, Duran is currently in custody for three separate court cases.

  • Drove Vehicle while License Under Restraint
  • Vehicle Registration Violation

Assault & Child Abuse: $1,000 Cash Bond

  • Third Degree Assault
  • Child Abuse

Traffic Offense: $2,000 Cash or Surety Bond

  • Driving Under the Influence related case

Duran is scheduled to appear back in court on Monday, August 1st for his next hearing on the felony DUI case.
