Just after 5:40PM, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office notified the public that I-70 eastbound would be closed for “several hours” as deputies assist the Denver Police Department. The closure follows a multi-vehicle crash, which was caused by a suspect in reference to a Denver Police investigation.

There is a full closer of I-70 eastbound at the US 6 exit and westbound traffic is limited to one lane. Colorado State Patrol is on scene investigating the crash.
